France | From Repairs to Robotics: How Clément Leignel Empowers Farmers with FJD Autonomous Tech in French Agriculture

In the heart of the Somme region of France, agricultural success has always been built on two things: technical expertise and the ability to adapt. Few people understand this better than Clément Leignel, the founder of CLEMENT LEIGNEL SARL, a leading agricultural machinery and technical service company.

From his company’s beginnings in a former blacksmith's workshop in 2007 to becoming a high-tech hub for 3D diagnostics and autonomous solutions, Clément’s journey reflects the rapid evolution of modern farming.

At the FJDynamics Global Dealer Conference 2026, we caught up with Clément to discuss how he is bridging the gap between traditional machinery repair and the cutting-edge world of digital agriculture.

A Legacy of "Service-Based Development"

Clément Leignel SARL wasn’t built overnight. It was forged through a commitment to solving problems for farmers, one repair at a time. Since 2008, the company has expanded from simple maintenance to a full-scale construction and sales operation. Over the years, they’ve added hydraulic design stations, 3D CAD modeling, and advanced CANBUS electronic diagnostics.

"We have a sales and repair business for agricultural machinery," Clément explained during our interview. "For FJDynamics, we handle sales, brand representation, and the installation of equipment within our territory." This local presence is vital because, in France, farmers don't just want a product—they want a partner they can trust to keep them running 7 days a week.

Seeing Is Believing: The Power of Real-World Demos

For Clément, attending the FJD conference in China provided a depth of understanding that a catalog or a price list simply couldn't offer. He was particularly moved by the scale of live demonstrations, where technology met the soil in real-time.

"I would like to thank the entire FJD team for the investment made in organizing this event and the demonstration field," Clément shared. "It is very pleasant. We are truly able to see in real-world conditions how to use these devices and what their quality is. There are features arriving on the market in the future that we hadn't necessarily been able to discover with a simple price list in our offices."

The 3D Revolution and Autonomous Farming

As a technical expert who has been using 3D CAD since 2014, Clément was most impressed by how FJDynamics is using 3D scanning and modeling to pave the way for a labor-free future. He noted that the technology used in architecture and 3D visual scanning is now being successfully "re-tasked" for the farm.

"What remains striking for us is all the efforts deployed by FJD to scan both 3D visuals and interactions,” he noted. "It’s this ability to put all that modeling at the service of agriculture to operate autonomous vehicles in the future. The autonomy of equipment seems to us to be truly the determining element of technologies arriving in the future."

For Clément’s clients in France, autonomy isn't just a "cool feature"—it's a necessity. Like many parts of the world, French agriculture is facing a significant labor shortage. "Labor is starting to be a problem for many of our clients," Clément admitted. By automating tasks through 3D mapping and autonomous driving, farmers can maintain their productivity even when they can't find enough hands to help.

A Reputation Built on Intuition and Trust

One of the highlights of the conversation was Clément’s reflection on how his customers have reacted to FJDynamics products over the years. In the Somme region, farmers are practical; they value tools that are easy to use and built to last.

"For the moment, all the products we have installed for several years now have been very positive," Clément stated confidently. "When customers come back to us, it is to get new upgrades or new products. The features live up to expectations, the use remains very intuitive, and for us, it seems to meet the needs of the market."

This "intuitive" nature is key. If a system is too complicated, it won't be used. By making high-tech solutions feel familiar and easy to navigate, Clément is helping even the most traditional farmers embrace the digital age.

The Road Ahead for the Somme Region

As Clément returns to Bray-sur-Somme, he brings with him a vision of a fully autonomous farm. With a team of expert technicians and a direct line to FJDynamics’ latest R&D, Clément Leignel SARL is ready to lead the next generation of French farmers.

As he puts it, the future isn't just about selling a machine—it's about providing the "determining elements" that keep a farm running smoothly, efficiently, and autonomously.
